Operator10 data views: build weekly entry screens your team will actually use

Shape Operator10 into a weekly, operator-friendly screen. Add day-of-week, invert the layout, remove clutter, and create a desktop shortcut for quick entry.

Why change the view at all?

Operators and lab techs don’t need a month-long spreadsheet every time they enter numbers. With Operator10 data views, you can shape the screen to fit the work: focus the date window, simplify headers, and make entry quick.

Start with a clean weekly view

Create a new Data View with only the parameters you need. Open Properties → Display Range and set it to a 7-day Current Period. In Font & Color, switch the date format to “Short Date with Day of Week” so staff see Mon/Tue/Wed at a glance. Save, close, and reopen so it loads the current week by default. This keeps Operator10 data views focused and less cluttered.

Make entry faster

Turn on Inverted Display to put dates across the top and parameters down the side. Techs can press Enter to move down a column without touching the mouse. Remove unneeded summaries and calculated fields from Column Properties so the view shows only fields that accept entry. Reorder rows to match your bench sheet by dragging them into place. Add Group Headers (for example “Aeration Basins”) and rename column headers to match plant terms. None of these changes affect your underlying data. They only change how Operator10 data views display the same information.

Put it on the desktop

Drag the finished view to the desktop to create a shortcut. When a tech clicks it, the week opens ready for entry. If they need to backfill last week, the Previous/Next period buttons are at the top.

Why this matters

Cleaner screens reduce errors and speed up entry. When the view matches the order people sample and test, you spend less time hunting for cells and more time running the plant.
