What I love most about working at AllMax is the sense of collaboration and the shared commitment to innovation. It’s inspiring to work with a team that is passionate about solving problems and pushing the boundaries in our field.

What inspired you to join the AllMax team?
I was drawn to AllMax because of the company&#8217;s reputation for innovation and its forward-thinking approach. The team here is known for tackling complex challenges with creative solutions, which really spoke to me when I was looking for a place to grow my career.

What have been some of the most important lessons you’ve learned throughout your career?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the value of adaptability. Things can change quickly in our industry, and being able to pivot while staying focused on the end goal has been key to navigating challenges.

How have you impacted the team’s success?
I think my unique blend of technical knowledge and a collaborative spirit makes me stand out. I’m always eager to share insights, but also to learn from my colleagues and work together to achieve success.
What methods do you use to stay motivated and focused?
To stay motivated, I break down larger projects into smaller, more manageable tasks. Celebrating small wins along the way helps me maintain momentum. I also make sure to set aside time for breaks to recharge so I can stay focused and productive.

Tell us a bit about your family.
I am married. My wife is from the Philippines and I have three kids, two boys and a little girl.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
 Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors. Whether it&#8217;s hiking or just going for a long walk, being in nature is one of my favorite ways to unwind. I’m also a big fan of cooking and experimenting with different cuisines, especially Italian dishes.

What’s a cause that you are passionate about?
I’m passionate about environmental sustainability. I believe that small changes in our daily lives can have a big impact, and I’m always looking for ways to contribute to a greener future.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
 If I could travel anywhere, I’d love to visit the Philippines. The culture, the beaches, and the opportunity to explore such a diverse and vibrant country have always fascinated me.

What do you love most about your job/working at AllMax? 
 What I love most about working at AllMax ties into the next question, but to expand on that, I really appreciate the genuine commitment to fostering each person’s individual talents and skills to build a stronger team. Many places talk about continuous growth and improvement, but it’s rare to see true action behind those words. Here, they mean it. Everyone’s unique contributions are valued, and it’s great to be part of a company where this is put into practice every day.

What do you think sets AllMax apart in your field? 
What sets AllMax apart is the strong sense of collaboration across every level of the company. Coming from other industries, it’s remarkable to work in an environment where everyone—from entry-level staff to leadership—actively works together toward shared goals. This genuine commitment to teamwork and mutual support is reflected in how we engage with our customers. Because of this, I feel proud to interact with clients, knowing that we’re building authentic, meaningful connections. I can truly stand behind everything I say to our customers.

How has your role evolved since you joined the team?  
I joined the team in Technical Support. While I’m still in Tech Support, I now have the opportunity to engage more deeply with our customers by conducting training sessions for our software.

What do you think makes you unique as a team member?  
I believe what makes me unique as a team member is my ability to balance keeping things light and fun while maintaining professionalism to meet tasks and goals. I think creating an enjoyable atmosphere boosts morale and engagement, and I aim to carry that through both with my team and with our customers. 
&nbsp;
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? 
Outside of work, I enjoy going on walks or hiking (when it’s not in Florida!). I also love teaching Pilates, which has surprisingly become a big passion of mine—especially since I hated working out most of my life. I enjoy traveling, experiencing new cultures, exploring different countries, and wine. My favorite activity, though, is lying in bed with my dogs, reading, playing games, or doomscrolling on my phone. R&amp;R at its finest, right? 
&nbsp;
What types of books/movies do you enjoy? 
I’m surrounded by movie people, so I often find myself saying, “Oh cool, I’ll add it to the list!” anytime someone recommends something. But honestly, I don’t have the attention span to sit through a lot of movies—I prefer reading. I enjoy sci-fi and fantasy, but I also love reading about history. Some of my favorite authors are Brandon Sanderson, Sarah J. Maas, and Pierce Brown.

With over three decades of experience in the water and wastewater industry, BJ brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective that goes beyond just software expertise. His favorite aspect of the job? The connections he&#8217;s built with clients over the years. 
&nbsp;
How long have you worked at AllMax?  
I have been a member of the AllMax team for a total of 19 years. 
 
What do you love most about your job/working at AllMax?  
The thing I love most is the clients. Having worked in the water/wastewater industry for over 35 years, I have had the opportunity to meet and connect with many people. It&#8217;s great to engage with my peers in my line of work.&#8221; 
 
What do you think sets AllMax apart in your field? 
Having worked in various roles, from an operator to a plant superintendent, provides us with a unique perspective on the programs, beyond that of just a software specialist. 
&nbsp;
What inspired you to join the AllMax team? 
I hadn’t really thought about it until the original owners came and asked me to join the company. I said I knew nothing about computers/software and they were ok with that as they just wanted to tap into my industry knowledge. That was in 1995 and it has been a great career move ever since. 
&nbsp;
What do you think is your biggest contribution to the AllMax team? 
My ability to communicate with our clients, both current and potential, about how the software can assist them in their daily operations from a user’s perspective, not just a sales perspective. 
  
What’s your favorite memory from working at AllMax?  
The tradeshows, from local events to WEFTEC, provide us with an opportunity to meet our clients in person and stay updated on the latest industry trends.
&nbsp;
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?  
I work with my brother on our 65-acre farm where we raise Hereford cattle and manage all other aspects of farming. During the winter, I enjoy spending time in the hunting blind in hopes of getting a nice deer for the freezer. 
 
Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have. 
I really enjoy taking time to just relax. It may not be super interesting, but I believe it&#8217;s something everyone needs to do. Sitting on the porch, watching the cattle, and seeing the grandkids playing in the yard makes great memories.

I enjoy exercising my creativity in my role, developing the AllMax brand to embody our values, mission, and business strategy. I am deeply passionate about the AllMax brand!

AllMax Software understands the daily challenges and obstacles that operators encounter because we have experienced them. AllMax was established, operated, and supported by former wastewater and water operators. We have an in-depth understanding of the job and the most effective ways to assist you in working more efficiently, quickly, and intelligently.

What inspired you to join the AllMax team?
AllMax is my first job out of college, and it has been the perfect place to grow and learn. I graduated during the COVID-19 pandemic and wanted to be closer to my family. In this position, I have improved my skills, tried new things, and learned what works.
&nbsp;
How has your role evolved since you joined the team?
Over my three years with the team, AllMax&#8217;s marketing strategies have evolved. We initially focused on print advertising in national publications, which felt like putting our content out into the unknown. Now, our marketing strategy engages with operators where they are, in digital spaces, allowing us to track results and use data to make our marketing more meaningful, worthwhile, and impactful.

What is your most important lesson from working with the AllMax team? 
Our team is a valuable resource. The support team interacts with clients daily to address their issues. The sales team understands which parts of our software potential clients find appealing. The development team is aware of what is next for AllMax Software. You can access meaningful content when communicating with your team, even outside your department.
&nbsp;
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? 
Walking my dog, Poppy, reading a good book, tending to my vegetable garden, and being involved with local theatre organizations.
&nbsp;
What type of books/movies do you enjoy?
Anything and everything! I have a goal to read 65 books this year!
&nbsp;
What’s a cause that you are passionate about? 
Theatre and arts education for children is something I&#8217;m passionate about supporting. Theatre arts teach young people life-changing skills that can boost their academic success and help them think more creatively and critically. Watching kids trying new things, working through their emotions, and gaining confidence on stage is amazing. Ensuring every child has access to theatre and arts education is crucial for our communities.

Cory initially joined our Technical Support team and has since leveraged his knowledge and skills to develop AllMax Software into the finest option available for the water and wastewater industry. 
  
How long have you worked at AllMax? 
I’ve been with the AllMax team since June 2021. 
 
What do you love most about your job/working at AllMax? 
Being given the opportunity to learn new technologies and grow my skills. I feel lucky to work at a company that values the development of its employees as much as AllMax does. 
 
What do you think sets AllMax apart in your field?  
AllMax is really focused on delivering the best experience to our clients. Whether it’s getting a real, live person when a client needs technical support, or the highly customizable training and implementation options we offer, AllMax goes above and beyond.  
 
What inspired you to join the AllMax team? 
I have always been a person whose hobbies and interests revolve around computer technology. Joining AllMax really was a dream come true for me. 
 
How has your role evolved since you joined the team? 
I began in Technical Support, and I now work on bug fixing, feature improvements, and developing internal software tools in the Development department as well as supporting clients.  
  
What do you think is the most important skill that you bring to the table? 
I’m a quick learner most of the time, and I love learning about new tech and software.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned from working with the AllMax team?  
A problem isn’t always as big as it may seem at first glance.  
  
What’s your favorite memory from working at AllMax?  
All the laughs in the office! We have a good sense of humor around here and never waste a chance to crack a joke. 
  
What do you think our future looks like as a team? 
Our future is really bright here at AllMax. We have amazing clients, knowledgeable and friendly support techs, a great sales and marketing department, a strong development team, and great leadership all in one small business.  
 
What are you looking forward to in your current role? 
Continuing to grow and expand my knowledge and skills in software development, and to continue improving our products to be the best they can be. 
  
Tell us a bit about your family.  
I have been blessed to be married to my wife Erin since 2015 and we own a home in rural Ohio. We have two dogs named Penny and Cooper, and a big, mean cat named Frank. 
  
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?  
Spending time with my wife and our pets, watching movies, PC gaming, playing guitar, keeping up on tech, electronics repair, and personal software projects. 
  
Do you follow any sports teams?  
 I’m a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians. 
  
What type of books/movies do you enjoy? 
Science-fiction, Fantasy, Medieval. 
  
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why? 
I’ve always been a space enthusiast, so I’m going way out there and saying a week onboard the International Space Station! If the ISS is booked up, I’d settle for a few days on the lunar surface.

Because AllMax is a small company, the team has to work uniquely. Each team member has a crucial role in the success of the company. One of my biggest pet peeves is not getting a hold of a real person when I need help from a company or business. My role as Business Operations &amp; Finance Manager is a new position at AllMax, so it has been an evolving role since day one. My main job is keeping the team organized and efficient, knowing all the details of what is happening throughout the company, and being a resource to all team members. Because I oversee the Finance department, Human Resources, and Operations, it has been a steep learning curve. Still, I have enjoyed learning how AllMax functions and thinking of ways to streamline each process. I have especially enjoyed learning the financial side- I love spreadsheets and numbers!

How long have you been part of the AllMax family?
 I first joined AllMax Software back in 2009 as a junior developer. After a brief hiatus pursuing a study abroad program in Japan, where I unexpectedly stayed for nearly seven enriching years, I happily returned to AllMax in 2020.
What do you find most fulfilling about your job or working at AllMax?
One of the things I cherish most about working at AllMax is the remarkably flexible work environment that promotes a healthy work-life balance. Moreover, the genuine friendliness and collaborative spirit among the staff make every day enjoyable.
What do you believe sets AllMax apart in our industry?
At AllMax, we take pride in offering highly personalized support to our clients, backed by three decades of industry experience. Our longstanding relationships with clients and expertise in the water industry truly set us apart.
How has your role evolved since you first joined the team?
Embarking on my career journey as a junior developer fresh out of college, I&#8217;ve had the privilege to grow within AllMax, now serving as the senior developer leading our talented development team. I&#8217;m profoundly grateful for the opportunities AllMax has provided and proud to collaborate with such a skilled team.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work, you&#8217;ll often find me immersed in Japanese video games, exploring nature through hiking, or playing the occasional game of Pickleball.
Share an interesting hobby or pastime with us.
For close to two decades, I&#8217;ve been captivated by Japanese music games like Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) and Pop&#8217;n Music. In fact, reigniting my passion for DDR in 2018 led to shedding nearly 40lbs!
What genres of books and movies captivate your interest?
 I&#8217;m drawn to Sci-Fi and Fantasy, with &#8220;The Lord of the Rings&#8221; ranking as my favorite movie, and &#8220;Stargate SG-1&#8221; as my preferred TV show.
Lastly, what&#8217;s your favorite food?
Curry holds a special place in my heart, Japanese or Indian!

I officially joined AllMax just a few months ago, but I&#8217;ve been working with the team since April of this year.

AllMax is the perfect blend of being small enough to operate with common sense and big enough to make a significant impact. The passion in the wastewater industry is contagious, and connecting with our customers helps us understand the importance of our software.

I met my wife at UC San Diego, and we&#8217;ve been happily married for 15 years. We adopted our 5-year-old daughter from Thailand in December 2021, and our mini-Aussie keeps us just as busy.

Adoption and caring for the entire adoption triad.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
Planning to go back to Thailand in late 2024 with our daughter. It would be our 3rd overall trip. It&#8217;s a beautiful country with beautiful people, and we want our daughter to know and love her culture.
Do you follow any sports teams?
The Atlanta Braves are my top team, and I was fortunate enough to attend a game during the 2021 World Series. I also follow the Padres and the Oregon Ducks.
What has been your most meaningful accomplishment so far?
I&#8217;ve sung Van Halen’s “Jump” in karaoke bars in six countries and over 10 states.
What&#8217;s something surprising that not many people know about you?
My favorite singer is Taylor Swift, and I&#8217;ve seen her in concert twice. I plan to attend her concert again in 2024.

Update for Operations Software Now Available

Recently AllMax Software hosted an enriching Operations Roundtable that delved into the intricacies of AllMax’s Operations software. The in-person event proved to be an invaluable opportunity for operators to gain insights, share experiences, and explore the practical applications of Operator10 and Synexus.
The gathering saw operators from key municipalities, including the City of Lancaster, Licking County (Ohio), Perrysburg, Ohio, and Greenville, Ohio, converging to participate in dynamic discussions led by an AllMax expert. The focal point of the roundtable was navigating data management in Operator10, offering valuable tips, and unveiling the practical field applications of AllMax’s software solutions.
Attendees were treated to a catered lunch that fostered networking conversations and sharing stories. A plant tour of the City of Lancaster South Water Treatment Plant provided operators with a real-world perspective on the software&#8217;s application within water treatment facilities.
An added incentive for participants was the opportunity to earn 5 Ohio contact hours. Operators left equipped with newfound knowledge and streamlined functionalities of the software, ready to implement within their respective facilities.

It’s all about people skills. AllMax takes pride in fostering strong working relationships with our clients by really understanding our clients’ needs. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Camping or fishing with my soon-to-be 13-year-old daughter and family and indulging in anything sci-fi, be it books, movies, or TV shows. Oh, and I’m a die-hard baseball fan!
 
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
I’d love to explore new places, but a trip to the birthplace of baseball, Cooperstown, is high on my list. The history and passion for the game make it a must-visit for any baseball fan.

It&#8217;s incredible to think that just last week, WEFTEC 2023 was wrapping up. Our Support Engineer, BJ Yoder, Sales Manager, Daryll Dorman, and Marketing Manager, Mariah Clawson, had a fantastic time engaging with attendees, sharing AllMax-branded pencils, and immersing themselves in the bustling atmosphere of the exhibit hall.

On that Sunday, the team was brimming with excitement as we arrived at McCormick Place to set up our booth. As we turned the corner, I couldn&#8217;t help but breathe a sigh of relief as the crate containing our booth materials arrived safe and sound. We wasted no time, and just an hour later, our booth was ready to welcome over 13,000 vendors, attendees, operators, and engineers who collectively define the water and wastewater profession.
The expo hall was abuzz on Monday, and we thoroughly enjoyed hearing stories from our current clients and the enthusiasm from attendees seeking centralized operations and maintenance data management solutions. I’m pretty sure that most attendees departed on the first day of WEFTEC with an AllMax pencil, thanks to BJ&#8217;s creative ways of distributing them, such as sneakily placing them in conference bags or encouraging attendees to write home to their mothers with them.

Tuesday was a special day as we had the chance to watch the Operations Challenge and cheer on local teams, including pHila-MENACE from Lima, Ohio, Excrement Exterminators from Columbus, Ohio, and Dirty Deeds from Northwestern Water &amp; Sewer. The Excrement Exterminators clinched 3rd place in the Ops Challenge Safety event, while the pHila-MENACE secured an impressive 12th place in Division 3. Congratulations to these remarkable teams!

Wednesday brought a heartfelt moment as I surprised BJ with a photo from WEFTEC 1997, his second WEFTEC. Check out the AllMax Software Facebook for the video! Each conference holds a unique place in BJ&#8217;s heart, but it&#8217;s the memories he&#8217;s built with our clients, some of whom he has been assisting for nearly 35 years, that are the dearest to him. Daryll and I playfully dubbed him Mr. WEFTEC because he seemed to know everyone!
As the time came to pack up and bid farewell to WEFTEC 2023, we reflected on our accomplishments, the meaningful conversations, and our favorite Chicago meals—mine was the Chicago deep dish! Time to hit the road!

Another year, another set of milestones for AllMax Software, Inc. First, we would like to thank all of you, our clients for your continued support and trust in our company and our products. This year, we continued our tradition of providing top-notch sales and technical support services. 
We have been fortunate to be able to hire amazing new staff members and expand our AllMax family. A warm welcome to Cory Ransbottom in technical support and Nicki Boitnott in administration. In addition, exciting promotions for Doug Klima and Ryan Kindell to Sales Lead and Technical Support Lead respectively.
Our programming and development teams have been hard at work this year, releasing three major updates to our software suite, updates developed with client feedback in mind. Soon to come, new versions of Operator10® Wastewater and Water!
AllMax Software also made a return to in-person conferences and trade shows this year by attending the One Water Conference in Cincinnati. We are expanding our trade show reach greatly in 2022 to see our clients and demonstrate our updated software to the water industry. We can&#8217;t wait to see you!
