Antero work order scheduling options: understand the choices

Antero work order scheduling defines when templates generate work. Learn how Days in Service, Instruments, Calendar, and Out of Service behave—and what each option needs to run.

In Antero, Antero work order scheduling controls when a work template generates work. On each template you’ll see the equipment status (“Equipment In Service” in green or “Out of Service” in red) and a Scheduled checkbox. When Scheduled is checked, the template is active and will generate work based on the option you select. If it’s unchecked, it won’t generate work.

The scheduling options (at a glance)

1) Days in Service / Instruments

These can be used together. Whichever schedules first generates the work order.

Days in Service. Set the number of days and a scheduling date. The interval starts from the last completed date. Work orders based on Days in Service generate only after any existing work is completed and recorded in Work Order History. Example: a 7-day task created on the 1st but finished on the 10th will next schedule for the 17th. If the equipment goes out of service, the Days in Service count restarts.

Instruments. Schedule from a meter or a gauge. For meters, provide Last WO ReadingInterval, and Scheduling date; a work order triggers when current usage passes the interval. For gauges, a work order triggers when a reading falls outside the min/max range set on the template.

2) Calendar

Pick the specific month and day for recurring work. This runs independent of the status of open work orders. Set a scheduling date as the starting point; it updates to the date the work order is created, so the template stays aligned. Calendar-scheduled templates use the Create Through Days database option when creating new work.

3) Out of Service

Use this when equipment is temporarily unavailable but still needs preventive maintenance. Work is generated after the equipment has been out of service for the specified consecutive number of days. If the equipment returns to service before the period ends, the count resets.

Tip: manual work from templates

You can also create templates for manual work orders that don’t follow a set schedule. Use the Template section to create new work without re-entering details.
